Tigerloop and GOK De-aerators are designed to ensure that there is only the need to have a one-pipe system that eliminates the advent of gas build up in the oil that can cause problems with the effectiveness of the burner. Without one of these fitted you may not get a clean burn, fuel consumption may be increased, the burner can trip out unexpectedly and using a two-pipe system can lead to unnecessary pollution. Usually these have to be fitted externally although now there are versions to fit internally.

Fire Valves need to be fitted wherever there is the possibility of a fire and it is essential to switch off the flow of oil from outside the property in order that this cannot 'feed the flames' and make the potential disaster much worse than it possible could be. The most common type of fire valve is the capillary type, where an expansion of the fluid in a phial adjacent to the fire zone causes the fluid to expand and thus closing the bellows within the external fire valve and shutting off the oil flow. Other types of fire valves such as the 'free fall', 'lever' and 'fusible head' types are available for specific purposes. Electrically operated fire valves can also be obtained.

There is often a situation where the oil needs to be held in a small 'day tank' in order to ensure a regular oil flow into the appliance, which is unable in itself to pull this up from the tank. Typically a gravity fed cooker such as an AGA or Rayburn does not have its own pump and relies on a gravity feed of oil in order to operate. The positioning of the oil storage tank is not always appropriate to permit this. This is where the oil lifter comes into it forte. It can bring oil up into a reservoir to gravity feed the appliance at distances where the tank can be positioned up to 100 metres away and can lift the oil up has high as 8 metres in order to provide a 'head'. This is particularly suitable where the tank is position underground or the cooker/appliance is on the first floor.

Before the introduction of bunded tanks it was relatively simple to just put an Atkinson Tankmaster Contents Gauge or an Atkinson Push Button Sight Gauge on the outside of the tank. With the advent of the bunded tank these are no longer suitable because they have to be fitted within the bund and cannot be seen. Various other devices have been tried with varying success. There are simple float gauges, low cost hydrostatic gauges such as the Watts Televar as well as the more expensive Piusi OCIO level gauges. The Piusi OCIO gauges can be set for any size or shape of tank and can output the contents of the tank in litres, percentage, level, etc. The output from the Piusi OCIO gauge(s) can be 'collected' and fed into a PC software programme for analysis using the Piusi OCIO Desk option. There is also the very simple Atkinson Drum Gauge that is used for monitoring the content of drums of fluid.

The Atkinson Tanktop, top offtake device is an installer's dream come true. This is the world's first and only complete top offtake solution. Fits directly in the top of the tank to provide a complete professional top offtake solution that requires no joints to be made by the installer. There is absolutely no risk of any air leaks that could cause the system to fail meaning that no time is wasted by the installer making the connections and no time is wasted trying to eliminate air leaks retrospectively.

Sometimes the pressure provided can be higher that that permitted by the appliance manufacturer. If the appliance is a device such as an AGA cooker then a simple pressure regulating valve, preset to the required pressure, can be use. Alternatively there is often a need to set the pressure input to a certain bar / psi so an adjustable pressure regulating valve is required and in order to adjust this then a gauge is required too.

There are versions of these available to fit all types of fuel tanks, plastic, metal, with threaded boss, without threaded boss, etc. Having an overfill alarm is all very well and good provided it is in good working order and the delivery driver heeds the alarm. In practice, this device physically prevents the ingress of any futher input of fuel. It can be essential in 'remote-offset-fill' situations, where the deliver driver has no sight of the tank being filled. The effective flow rate is between 23 lpm and 580 lpm. These are tested 100% before being sold. The 'leak rate', when closed, is less than 2.5 lpm.

These are very much like an electricity meter. They record the amount of oil passing through the delivery pipe to the burner. Similarly to an electricity meter, they keep a cumulative total of usage (i.e. are not resettable by the user) and in order to deterine the current period usage you simply subtract the previous reading from the current reading. Also like an electricity meter, these have to be fitted internally or in a weather proof encloseure externally (use a simple meter box from you local builders merchant) because they are rated IP50.

If you require a complete solution in a box then the Atkinson Fuel Box fuel dispenser or the Piusi Cube fuel dispensing pump will meet your needs. These come complete with the pump, a flowmeter, hose and nozzle. All you need to suppy is the means of input delivery. This is often supplied using 'black iron' pipe for secourity reasons. If security is not an issue then you can consider using steel reinforced hose for the suction side of the fuel box (always available in stock - please ask).

We offer a variety of hose reels suitable for use with diesel (ATEX approved hose reels are available to special order). These can be stainless steel or painted depending on whether it is going to be stored externally or internally. It is good practice to use a steel reinforced hose with hose reels so that this does not collapse when rewound and restrict the flow through when not completely rolled out. Each individual hose reel will take a maximum amount of hose depending on its diameter so please ensure you selct the correct hose reel for your needs.
