FAQ's

Do I have to have an alarm on my tank by law ?

No its not a regulation or requirement but if you were employing a remote offset filling point away from the tank then we would strongly recommend an overfill alarm. This is merely for the fact that the delivery driver is not near the tank and cannot see if there was an overfill situation.

 

Can I still fit one of these alarms if I have no access to mains power nearby ?

Yes we offer all of our alarms in either 230v or battery options. The battery versions of our alarms would need to be part of your regular maintenance schedule to perform a quick button push test to check the batteries still have power.

Also the alarms can be wired using standard 2 core electrical cable so it wouldn’t be too difficult to run this from a distance should you need to.

Do you offer a low level alarm ?

We offer an overfill alarm, bund alarm, and a combined overfill and bund version of our alarms, the combined version can be set to monitor low level should you need to by reversing the float sensor to sound the alarm when it sinks to a low level rather than alarms when it rises to a set level.

Can I site the alarm unit remotely from the tank ?

Yes, the probes are wired with standard 2 core electrical cable so these can be lengthened to allow you to mount the alarm away from the tank.
